about

"The Death of Us" is a song by Always & Never lead vocalist & guitarist Sam Mountain and drummer Mike Vacio's previous band Thoughts in Frame. It was released in November 2009 but didn't circulate due to the band's split shortly thereafter. Other members of Thoughts in Frame included guitarist Nikola Simikic and bassist Michael Capuano . Both of whom are featured on both of Always & Never's EPs. An acoustic version was released on Always & Never's 2011 release "A Changing Picture."

Track Name: The Death of Us
Verse 1:

This dream will never be what I expected
I never thought I'd see you re-directed
To something from the past already broken
The story of our time will be left unspoken

Chorus:

Tell me how it felt when you were lonely
You were always the one I never meant to hurt
Tell me how it felt when you were set free
I will always be there for you, just don't let go

Verse 2:

Why did you choose to leave and hurt me again?
I may not ever know but I'll still be your friend
Through everything we've done, I will be without you
(Please don't go now, I need you here)
But I will still have hope, hope I will hold onto
(Please don't go now, I need you here)

Chorus

Bridge 1:

Tell me I don't have to do this again
Tell me I am free
Tell me I don't have to do this again
Tell me I am free
Tell me I don't have to do this again
Tell me I am free
Tell me I don't have to do this again

Bridge 2:

This game you play is killing me
Take me back and let me breathe
Talk to me and your problems cease
Call me back and I'll let it ring

Chorus

Outro:

I had a way out
It was the death of us
I had a way out
It was the death of us
I had a way out
It was the death of us
